Estrous cycle
Determination of the different phases of the estrous cycle with the use of vaginal smears in female rats and mice.
Hormonal assays
RIA and ELISA for estrogens, testosterone, progesterone and corticosterone in male and female rats and mice blood serum or plasma.
Surgeries
The group performs ovariectomies, castrations, adrenalectomies and other surgeries in rats and mice. Also, stereotaxic surgeries and drug infusions are performed in rat brain areas, such as the prefrontal cortex, the hippocampus and the thalamus.
